Lantz

Lantz is a community within Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is located in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

This part of the municipality is especially car friendly. It is very easy to come across a place to park. The bicycle is a rather poor method of transportation in this community since the cycling network is not very well-developed, and cyclists are faced with a considerable amount of hills. It is also very impractical for pedestrians to navigate this part of Halifax because running common errands is difficult.

Services

Property owners in Lantz almost always have to turn to a car to purchase their groceries. As far as education is concerned, parents and their kids will welcome that wherever their home is located in this area, daycares are close by. In contrast, Lantz does not have any primary schools or high schools.

Character

Lantz is a very good community to buy a house in for those who prefer a slower-paced ambience. Lantz is very good for those who enjoy quiet areas, as the streets are very peaceful. Green spaces aren't well-distributed, resulting in them being rather challenging to get to from a large number of locations in this part of Halifax. Despite that, residents will be able to access parks in nearby communities.

Housing

About one quarter of properties in Lantz were built pre-1960, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. In this part of the municipality, the overwhelming majority of buildings are single detached homes, while mobile homes are also present in the housing stock. Nearly 95% of the properties in the community are occupied by homeowners whereas the rest are rented. This community is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes.
