Situated within the Greater Peterborough metropolitan area, Nassau is a neighbourhood in Peterborough, Ontario.

Transportation

Driving is a great transportation option in this neighbourhood. It is very convenient to park. However, residents using public transit may experience very few options in Nassau by reason of the infrequent service. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far from most homes. A majority of the houses for sale in this area are located in places that are not very convenient for walking because running common errands is inconvenient by walking. On the other hand, Nassau is quite bike-friendly since this neighbourhood features a good bicycling infrastructure.

Services

Nassau does not have any high schools or primary schools. In addition, daycares are not numerous and consequently not always within walking distance. In terms of food, in all cases, a car is required to do groceries. Conversely, house buyers won't have to look far to take advantage of the nearest coffee shop.

Character

Nassau offers a slower-paced ambience and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time in green spaces. This area is quiet, as the streets are quite peaceful. Finally, although the neighbourhood does not contain any parks, public green spaces are very well-distributed in nearby neighbourhoods, resulting in them being easy to access from the majority of locations within Nassau.

About one third of homes in Nassau were constructed following the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. The sizeable proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of this neighbourhood is an important part of its character.
