Part of the Greater Montreal metropolitan area, Pointe-aux-Carrières Beach is a neighbourhood within Montréal, Quebec.

Transportation

Cars are an excellent transportation option in this neighbourhood. Accessing a parking spot is quite easy. Walking is not very convenient for residents in this part of Montréal because carrying out daily needs is very challenging without a car. However, this area is reasonably bicycling-friendly.

Services

It is a rather short walk to access daycares from anywhere in this part of the city. However, there are no primary schools and no high schools in Pointe-aux-Carrières Beach. With respect to food, in all but a very small number of cases, a vehicle is required to shop for groceries.

Character

The character of Pointe-aux-Carrières Beach is exemplified by its relaxed environment. The greenery in this part of the city is very prominent as the tree canopy coverage for most streets is wonderful. There are a few parks nearby for residents to visit, such as Plage de la Pointe-aux-Carrières, and they are very well-situated, resulting in them being very easy to reach from numerous locations within the neighbourhood. This part of the city is very quiet overall, as the streets are usually very tranquil.

Housing

The sizeable proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of Pointe-aux-Carrières Beach is an important part of its character. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Nearly all of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and the remainder are rented. The homes in this part of Montréal are relatively new, because around one quarter of its buildings were constructed following the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1960s.
