Brompton

Brompton is a borough within Sherbrooke, Quebec, which is situated in the Greater Sherbrooke metropolitan area.

Transportation

Commuting by car is especially convenient in Brompton. It is very easy to park, and it is a reasonably short drive to the nearest highway, such as Autoroute Louis-Bilodeau, from any location in this part of Sherbrooke. In contrast, commuting by transit can be challenging in Brompton due to the low service level. Nonetheless, the borough is served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most houses. It is impractical for pedestrians to move around in Brompton because very few daily needs can be carried out on foot. It is also at times difficult to get around by bicycle in this part of the city since Brompton has a fairly poor bicycling infrastructure, and there are quite a few elevation changes. Nonetheless, a few bike-friendly sectors exist.

Services

Both primary and secondary schools are easy to reach on foot from most homes for sale in Brompton. In contrast, it can be very difficult to get to daycares as a pedestrian. As far as eating is concerned, it is very rarely practical for house buyers in Brompton to reach the closest grocery store on foot. Nevertheless, it is generally a rather short distance to the nearest pharmacy, which can provide some basic food items. There are also a few options for those who care about restaurants in close proximity.

Character

The character of Brompton is exemplified by its slower-paced ambience. Getting to public green spaces is easy in the borough, since the majority of properties for sale have one very close by and there are a few parks nearby for residents to check out. This part of Sherbrooke is also very good for those who enjoy quiet surroundings, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - however some areas can be quite loud, especially closer to Autoroute Joseph-Armand-Bombardier, Autoroute Louis-Bilodeau or the railway line.

Housing

Roughly one quarter of properties in Brompton were constructed following the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1960s. In this area, many dwellings are single detached homes, and the remaining homes are mainly small apartment buildings. Homeowners occupy around 70% of the units in Brompton and the rest are rented. This area offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
