L'Aéroport

The neighbourhood of L'Aéroport can be found in the city of Québec, Quebec, which is situated in the Greater Québec City metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are a great transportation option in this area. It is especially convenient to park, and many houses for sale are a short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Autoroute Félix-Leclerc. However, L'Aéroport is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, homeowners benefit from about 20 bus lines, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. Travelling on foot is not very practical for property owners in L'Aéroport since few daily errands can be run on foot. Cycling is also occasionally challenging in this part of the city as the bicycling infrastructure is not particularly extensive. Thankfully, there are a limited number of slopes, and some bike-friendly areas exist.

Services

Getting to the closest grocery store on foot is possible for some, but not all, property owners in L'Aéroport. Residents are served by about 30 restaurants and cafes as well. As far as education is concerned, it is a reasonably short walk to get to daycares and primary schools from most homes for sale in L'Aéroport. On the other hand, it can be difficult to access high schools on foot.

Character

The character of L'Aéroport is exemplified by its relaxed environment. It is easy to reach parks in the neighbourhood, since there are approximately 20 of them nearby for residents to visit, like Base de Plein Air de Sainte-Foy. Most areas in this part of Québec are quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case closer to Autoroute Félix-Leclerc, Autoroute Duplessis, the airport (Quebec City Jean Lesage International Airport) or one of the railway lines.

Housing

In L'Aéroport, most buildings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings and townhouses are also present in the housing stock. This area is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 85% of the dwellings in L'Aéroport and the remainder are rented. Around one third of homes in this neighbourhood were built between 1960 and 1980, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1980s and the 1990s.
